So I haven't updated my journal in like 6 months. It's been a pain keeping DeviantArt up to date being so busy and I don't know if anyone on here cares but I have some news!!! Firstly I've lost ten pounds and am very proud that I have taken proactive control over my health and happiness! This lead me to trying out for a modelling job, which I got and am now a published model for a Lingerie ad!!! And this weekend I will be in a runway show for the same company. My sister has also asked me to model her lingerie for when she does a show! I have also been in three art galleries and applying for my first solo exhibition!!!

And that is all my good news. Now for a rant:
 Turn away if you are sensitive.

 I submitted one of the artworks that are in an art show to a group on DeviantArt and it got declined LOL I find DeviantArt is soooo disconnected from the real artworld. Which troubles me, I want to challenge high and low art and high and low forms of culture DeviantArt seems like the perfect place to do this but I am beginning to doubt this. DeviantArt's idea of quality seems so very skewed, some art is just beautiful to look at but doesn't stimulate anything else and other art is so poor technically I don't care to look at it. I am being critical but that is because I'm a trained artist taught to be critical. That being said I really enjoy this community and connecting with fellow artists, some people on here though submit drawings and stories and think they are artists. Sure anyone can be an artist but if someone asks you what make you an artist or what makes that art you better be able to explain why. That being said I do pick my favourites based on what I find aesthetically pleasing. So I am a hypocrit but I do aim to make my art something I find aesthetically pleasing as well as having multiple layers of meaning.

Ok I've ended my rant, On that note, I'm struggling on getting my graduating artworks done for a huge gallery exhibition! Then the next stage of my life... whatever that will be! I feel like I'm missing news!!!
